In Vedic philosophy, astrological consultations deal with the seeker's innermost life journey, planetary karma, spiritual inclinations, and intimate life moments. We regard the astrological information entrusted to us not merely as digital data, but as a sacred trust (Sanatan Vishwas).
This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, store, process, transfer, protect, and erase your personal data in accordance with:
- The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and rules framed thereunder;
- The Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011;
- The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020; and
- Applicable Google Play Store and Apple App Store Developer User Data Policies for astrological and consulting applications.
By accessing our website, installing our mobile app, generating a Janam Kundli, or consulting an Acharya, you acknowledge that you have read and consented to the collection and processing of your personal data as described herein.
Information We Collect
To provide authentic Vedic astrological calculations, personalized planetary forecasts, and seamless connectivity with certified Acharyas, we collect the following categories of information:

Special Provisions for Vedic Astrological & Birth Data
Under Indian privacy legislation, your precise birth coordinates (Date, Time, and Place) paired with personal life questions constitute Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI).
Our Immutable Astrological Commitments:
1. We use your birth information solely for generating astronomical planetary degrees (using Swiss Ephemeris and Lahiri Ayanamsha) and facilitating requested consultations.
2. We do not construct commercial behavioral advertising profiles from your astrological doshas (e.g., Mangal Dosh, Sade Sati) to sell external loans, insurance, or predatory services.
3. You can store or delete multiple family profiles (e.g., spouse, children, parents) directly from your “My Kundlis” dashboard at any moment.
How We Use Your Personal Information (Lawful Bases)
Under Section 4 and Section 6 of the DPDP Act, 2023, AstroNarayan processes personal data only for specified, lawful purposes based on your explicit consent or legitimate legal uses:
- Core Astrological Services: Generating Lagna (D-1), Navamsha (D-9), Moon chart, Vimshottari Dasha, transit ephemeris, and Gun Milan match scores.
- Consultation Facilitation: Routing your live chat or voice session to the chosen Acharya, calculating real-time billing per minute, and maintaining consultation history.
- Sanctified E-Commerce & Temple Services: Dispatching lab-certified planetary gemstones (Yellow Sapphire, Blue Sapphire, Emerald, etc.) and conducting authentic Vedic pujas in Varanasi and Ujjain temples with proper name/Gotra Sankalp.
- Seeker Communications: Delivering daily Dainik Rashiphal notifications, Panchang updates, Shubh Abhijit Muhurat alerts, transaction receipts, and customer service responses.
- Platform Security & Fraud Prevention: Preventing automated bot scraping, unauthorized wallet manipulation, harassment of astrologers, or fraudulent payment chargebacks.
Astrologer Confidentiality & Strict NDAs
AstroNarayan enforces the most rigorous astrologer onboarding standards in the astrology industry:
1. Legally Binding NDAs
Every Acharya, Jyotish Ratna, and Tarot reader signs an enforceable Non-Disclosure Agreement before their profile goes live. Disclosing seeker questions, audio recordings, or personal identities constitutes an immediate breach punishable under Indian contract and cyber laws.
2. No Off-Platform Solicitation
Astrologers are strictly prohibited from asking seekers for personal phone numbers, bank accounts, or external meetings. Any astrologer attempting off-platform solicitation is permanently terminated and blacklisted.
Audio Call & Chat Transcript Recording Policy
When you engage in a live consultation via audio call or text chat on AstroNarayan:
- Quality Assurance & Auditing: Sessions may be recorded and stored for training, quality monitoring, verifying ethical Vedic standards, and arbitrating billing disputes.
- Seeker Benefit (Re-Listening): In your AstroNarayan dashboard, you may replay your past consultation recordings or read previous chat transcripts to recall remedies, Mantras, or Muhurat dates recommended by the Acharya.
- Phone Number Masking: Calls placed through AstroNarayan do not reveal your real telephone number to the astrologer. Our cloud telecommunications gateway bridges the call anonymously.
- Restricted Staff Access: Recording logs are stored on encrypted cloud volumes with strict role-based access control. No staff member may access a session recording without an authorized grievance or technical escalation ticket.
Payment, Wallet & Banking Security
AstroNarayan does NOT collect, view, or store your Credit Card numbers, Debit Card CVVs, Expiry dates, NetBanking passwords, or UPI MPINs.
RBI-Authorized Payment Aggregators
All financial transactions on AstroNarayan are handled via PCI-DSS Level 1 certified Indian payment aggregators (such as Razorpay, Cashfree, and NPCI Unified Payments Interface). Payments are protected by 128-bit/256-bit TLS encryption, OTP 2-factor authentication, and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) security guidelines.
Data Sharing & Authorized Third-Party Disclosures
We do not sell, rent, lease, or monetize your personal details. We only share necessary subsets of data with trusted service providers under strict data processing agreements:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS Mumbai Region) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP Mumbai Region) for encrypted database hosting within the sovereign territory of India.
- Telecom & SMS Gateways: Enterprise SMS gateways (e.g., Gupshup, Exotel) for OTP delivery and anonymous call bridging.
- E-Commerce Logistics Partners: Reputed courier companies (Blue Dart, Delhivery) strictly for shipping certified gemstones and sanctified temple Prasad to your postal address.
- Legal & Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or written mandate from an authorized law enforcement agency of the Government of India.
Data Retention, Account Erasure & Archival
We retain personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as required to fulfill the legitimate astrological and legal obligations described in this policy:
- Active Seeker Profiles: Your birth charts and saved family profiles remain accessible as long as your account is maintained.
- Account Erasure: Upon receiving an account deletion request, your personal profile, Janam Kundlis, and chat transcripts are permanently purged from active production databases within 30 days.
- Financial Retention: In compliance with the Indian Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act and Companies Act, 2013, transaction invoices and billing ledgers are archived for a mandatory statutory period of 7 years.
Your Rights Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
As a “Data Principal” under the DPDP Act, 2023, you enjoy statutory rights regarding your personal information:
Right to Access
Request a summary of personal data being processed, including identities of astrologers consulted and service providers shared with.
Right to Correction
Correct, modify, or complete inaccurate birth dates, timestamps, birth cities, or profile details at any time.
Right to Erasure
Request complete deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
Right of Grievance Redressal
Register any privacy concern with our statutory Grievance Officer, or escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Right to Nominate
Nominate any individual who, in the event of death or incapacity, shall exercise your rights as a Data Principal.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Revoke consent for non-essential communications (such as marketing SMS or push notifications) with immediate effect.
Children's & Minors' Privacy
AstroNarayan does not knowingly offer paid astrological consultations or credit-based chat accounts directly to persons below 18 years of age without verifiable parental consent.
Parents or legal guardians may generate birth charts for their newborn children (such as for auspicious Namkaran ceremonies, Nakshatra determination, or education guidance) under the parent's verified account. If we discover an unsupervised minor has registered, we will promptly delete the account.
